Track Wiring Diagrams
Below is a collection of wiring diagrams I have put together for various track formations, mostly the diagrams are for live frog points/switches, but there are some other miscellaneous diagrams too. The styles tend to vary as I've generally just scribbled them together when needed, I hope that they are found to be of some use.
Live frog Turnout and Crossing Wiring
Alot of people seem to find the wiring of single and double slips to be quite complicated, until they see how simple it is. I put the following 3 diagrams together to show just what is required, the first diagram shows how to wire an ordinary live frog point (known as Electrofrog by Peco).
It is then quite simple to show 2 points connected heel to heel. And this is the trick, this formation gives essentially the same operational ability as a slip, so...
... Wiring a slip (single or double) is no differant to wiring 2 points heel to heel.
There is another diagram for slip wiring here.
The formation below uses 2 points and a crossing, but the wiring can also be used for a single outside slip.
Other Diagrams
The diagram below shows a simple method for wiring a reverse loop for DCC, although the diagram mentions a Peco twin micro-switch any DPDT switch connected to the point or motor will suffice. The 2 LEDs will show which direction the point is set, note that this method of route indication must not be used if you use Railcom.
